The LG Dare is a high-end from whose large touchscreen, easy to use music player, and highly-functional camera give it an emphasis on multimedia.

This model does many things surprisingly well. If you’re a consumer looking for an inexpensive, fully-featured mobile or a multimedia enthusiast, you should definitely take a closer look at the Dare. However, if you’re a die-hard road warrior, you probably need a Blackberry or a Windows Mobile smartphone.

BrightBytes™: GoAmerica, AT&T, Cases, and More

Late last month, GoAmerica announced that EarthLink had purchased all its CDPD-networked subscribers and a segment of its and Motient network subscriber base. This week, GoAmerica sent an email to all the subscribers to its CDPD service informing them that their accounts are being transferred to EarthLink. These people have the choice of either subscribing to EarthLink for $40 a month or stopping their service. Thanks to Mike for the tip.

Speaking of CDPD, AT&T Wireless announced earlier this week that it will shut its CDPD network down by 2004. AT&T no longer accepts new subscribers and current subscribers will be encouraged to switch to the company’s other networks. Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) is an older networking technology that offers a maximum speed of 19.2 kbps.

Garmin to Release GPS Receiver with Palm OS 5

While Garmin International licenced the over a year ago, it has yet to release a using it. This is about to change as the company is going to put out a GPS receiver running the latest version of the operating system on it. Garmin has yet to say anything about this but Motorola, who will be supplying the processor, has jumped the gun and put out a press release on it.
